Marco's business milestones were an opportunity to share a deeper narrative around the growing global trade finance gap.
Idea
Corporate momentum storytelling framed around macroeconomic shifts to raise visibility for the need and company's traction in solving this problem.

MISSION-DRIVEN NARRATIVE
As financing options began to dwindle for SMB importers due to increasingly risk-averse lenders, Marco Financial set out to close the massive trade finance gap. But it needed help build visibility for the issue and its traction as a startup, particularly with investor audiences.
The company came to SHIFT repeatedly to highlight how it’s doing so, beginning with a launch and continuing with subsequent large deals showing real traction for the young startup.
We began with foundational work on strategic narrative and messaging, then pitched the larger corporate story under the funding hook. Post-launch, we sustained momentum by pitching incremental news around Marco’s growth, traction and true impact on SMBs in Latin America, always leading with the larger category narrative.

IMPACT
The launch was earmarked with a TechCrunch feature (something Marco's board wanted but felt was a long shot) and followed with 20+ hits in Bloomberg, TechCrunch (a second time) and other priority outlets, sharing Marco's technology in a way that mattered to its audience and leading its founders to share, "SHIFT was by far our best investment to date.”
