As the year comes to a close, we like to analyze the SHIFT archives to learn what content performed best. It's important to see what worked and what didn't work to plan for the new year to come. Want to see how to analyze your own blog? Here's how.The best of Q1 2018 focused on influencer marketing, social media metrics to watch and ways marketers and communicators can hone their skills.

The End of Instagram Influencers (as we know it)

Over the course of 2018, Facebook has throttled the data it allows marketers and developers to access and manipulate through the Instagram API -- removing things like relationships (the ability to follow/unfollow accounts on a user's behalf) and commenting/liking (the ability to post and delete comments/engagements on a user's behalf). What should influencers do? Build on what you own. Invest in your website. Invest in your email list, in your mobile list, in your mobile app, in the things you control.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
