Alan Dunton & Amanda Munroe Take Helm at SHIFT

Alan Dunton and Amanda Munroe have been elevated into new roles as Group Co-Leads at SHIFT Communications, where they are now responsible for guiding the agency’s brand, people and client work.

This move follows a strong 2023, in which Amanda and Alan were key in strengthening client service and growing the technology practice with clients including Inventist, Vention, Veritas and Conviva. It also comes as former SHIFT Managing Partner Rick Murray steps back from agency leadership and transitions to Partner, EVP and Senior Counselor in Padilla’s Corporate Advisory Group.

Alan joined SHIFT as its West Coast lead in 2018, bringing a broad range of expertise from his 25-year career in agency and client-side roles. Named a top technology PR professional by Business Insider, he’s helped both startups and global brands launch first-of-their-kind technologies and establish leadership positions. He enjoys helping clients identify, capture and articulate what makes them special and how best to connect with the audiences they care about. Alan has also provided The Ocean Cleanup and The SF Giants Community Fund with pro-bono PR support.

Amanda has been an invaluable team member at SHIFT for 20 years, growing into the role of SVP of the Technology Practice before being appointed Group Lead. Named a Top Woman in PR, she’s a highly strategic counselor with an exceptional ability to help companies articulate a greater purpose, align with current events and issues and build integrated communications programs that deliver real business impact. She closely mentors team members to grow their own careers and do the same.

Amanda and Alan now report to Matt Kucharski, who leads all agencies in the Padilla family of brands and shared:
