When you don’t need PR
Here’s a simple, easy question: does the Boston Police Department need public relations help right now?
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the answer is a definitive no, unless PR help means having staffers collecting and sorting gifts, clipping positive media coverage, and cataloging the well-earned thanks of a grateful city for the neutralization of the terrorist threat against the city of Boston.
Being authentically heroic in your actions, achieving truly incredible results, and winning under pressure and intense scrutiny are the keys that made the dramatic closure of the Marathon bombings so powerful, so worthy of all of the media earned.
No PR is needed for the truly awesome.
The staff of SHIFT Communications (especially our Newton office) extends our thanks to all of the authorities who helped solve the terrible crimes against the city and we honor the victims of those criminals.
