140 Characters or Less… With @JLPurcell

This month we meet brand new Austin VP Jennifer Purcell who gives us her take on a few questions in 140 characters or less.

Describe SHIFT Austin in 5 words.

Don’t mess with Texas, ya’ll.

What attracted you to work at SHIFT?

The people, reputation for great work, mix of tech and healthcare, and opportunity to build upon the Austin footprint.

If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

My husband, a charged cell phone, and a sharp knife.

Oscar chat: Which film should win Best Picture?

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, but Dunkirk is a close runner-up.

Which destinations are on your travel bucket list?

Ireland, Cambodia, Montreal, Istanbul, Egypt, back to New Zealand, and everywhere else I haven’t been (repeat)!

What is your spirit animal?

Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine

What are your daily reads?

I’m still developing my new SHIFT focused list. Does listening to NPR on my way to work count?

How do you unwind after a long week?

I am fairly anti-social on Friday nights. Get me home, nice dinner in with my husband, maybe some wine, and a book or DVR.

If you could have coffee with any person, living or dead, who would you choose? Why?

William Shakespeare. Why not?

What are your jams these days on Spotify?

We have awesome PR execs who double as DJs in the Austin office – a great mix of 80s rock, current pop and indie!

Bookworm question: what are you currently reading?

I just finished The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish, and I highly recommend it.

What’s your TV guilty pleasure?

I really wish I could, but I can’t quit Grey’s Anatomy!

If you could be anything/anybody in a circus, what would you be?

A trapeze artist – The Greatest Showman made it look like so much fun!
