A short time ago, SHIFT Communications was pleased to participate in the United Way’s Youth Venture Conference as part of our charitable work to stay connected to our community. One aspect of that event was for several staff members to take on the task of presenting different sessions to youth leaders in social entrepreneurship from economically challenged areas to help them grow their social good startups and make a difference in their communities.
Dave Levy and I had the privilege to talk marketing and social media to these students and future leaders, and share some ideas about how they could market their startups using nothing but their smartphones on a very small or no budget. Our talk evolved from a handful of apps to a coherent strategy that each of the kids in our classes had the potential to do well.
